In September 2018 I attended the GPU Hackathon that took place in Brookhaven National Lab, NY, USA. In this exciting workshop I spent one week sitting next to some of the top GPU code developers that came from various sites around the world, including Nvidia, and I took the opportunity to learn as much as I could from them, while improving and optimizing my existing GPU applications. The outcome of this week was a much faster optimized GPU application that helps extract important first-time physics results, as well as a steep increase in my knowledge concerning advanced computer programming.
