While a PhD student, I had the excellent opportunity to spend a month at the University of Bonn in Germany, from March 1st to April 3rd, 2015. The purpose of this trip was to gain training and experience in Monte Carlo techniques for lattice gauge theories by members of my collaboration that specialized in this topic. While in Germany, I also travelled to Juelich Supercomputing Center, one of the world’s largest supercomputing centers, to attend a very interesting 3-day workshop on Parallel I/O Data formats. In addition, I attended the Methods on Lattice Gauge Theory 2015 conference, organized by the University of Bonn. In this conference I also presented a number of results of my research.
